Overhead Crane Operator Training and Basic Material Handling

Our engineer audited course is designed in accordance with ISO9000, CSA B-167-16 and ASME B30.

Course Description

The theory portion of the course takes approximately 9 hours to complete, depending on class size and comprehension of participants. Practical involves approximately 1 hour of instruction followed by an operation evaluation. (Testing is approximately 1 hour per group of 3)

The Course Covers:

Theory:

  • Overview of current regulations and legislation

  • Basic rigging and material handling

  • Safe Working Load limit (SWL) calculation

  • Internationally recognized hand signals and demonstration

Practicum

  • Logbook review and entry

  • Pre-Operational and operational inspections

  • Evaluations for hoisting, rigging and signalling application

  • Shutdown process
